I am using Shrew for my VPN connection on Windows 8.0 successfully but it stopped working properly after I upgraded to Windows 8.1. It connects to VPN ok but I cannot access anything on the network. After several attempts it disconnects. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no affect. Any help wild be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

This is because of the network client filter Shrew Soft installed. Select Windows Start and type 'View Network Connections' Right click you network connection and select properties; Select Install, Service, Add. Choose Shre Soft from the Manufacturer list and select 'Shrew Soft Lightweight Filter' from the Network Service  Install Shrew (again), by right click the .exe and selecting 'Run as administrator'. IPSec VPN (Virtual Private Network) enables you to securely obtain remote resources by establishing an encrypted tunnel across the Internet.
